Transforming
from our roots

Weaving indigenous ancestral wisdom with STEAM — Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics — to open new pathways of learning for children and youth in Colombia.

01 — Who we are

An intercultural
take on STEAM.

STEAM Nativo bridges knowledge systems that have too often lived apart — the ancestral and the scientific, the local and the global — to spark inclusive, innovative education across Colombia.

Our Mission

To make STEAM an intercultural concept — free from stereotypes, constraints, or geographical location. A tool that brings together diverse fields of knowledge and fosters inclusive, innovative educational processes that create opportunities for sustainable social transformation, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of youth and childhood in Colombia.

Our Vision

To become an organization that promotes intercultural growth, social innovation, and the formation of partnerships with educational institutions, research groups and communities that foster and inspire new forms of learning, collaborating and community development.

CEO & Founder

Mariana leads STEAM Nativo with a conviction that Colombia's cultural and natural richness is itself a curriculum. Through research, community mapping and intercultural exchange, she is building bridges between indigenous knowledge holders, students and educators — turning classrooms into spaces of shared authorship.

Her passion for research and STEAM has led her to international programs such as Chief Science Officers — where she serves on the International Leadership Council — as well as RedColsi, Expo Exterior and Geeky Latin@s. She is also a published poet in Copihue Poetry magazine.
